In one sentence

Karen helps small and mid-sized businesses turn social media from a weekly chore into a working channel.

I started Wellman Wilson because the businesses I cared about were paying for social-media work that didn’t sound like them, didn’t connect to what they did, and didn’t earn its keep.

Most of my clients are small or mid-sized businesses — a clinic, a shop, a service company, a regional brand. They’re busy doing the actual work, and they don’t have a marketing department to lean on. They need someone senior who can write in their voice, set a steady cadence, and report honestly on what is and isn’t moving.

I’ve been doing some version of this for more than a decade — first inside organizations, then as a consultant. Over that stretch I’ve worked through every flavor of platform churn, every algorithm reset, every “the next thing” that turned out not to be. The work that holds up isn’t about chasing those. It’s about strategy, voice, and a calendar somebody actually keeps.

How I work

Engagements are scoped before they start, with a written proposal and a flat fee. No hourly meter. No retainer you can’t leave. Some clients hire me for a one-time strategy and run it themselves; some bring me on monthly to operate the channel; some use me as a coach for an in-house team. The structure should fit the business, not the other way around.

What I won’t do

Buy followers. Use AI slop as “content.” Recommend platforms that don’t fit the business. Optimize for engagement metrics that don’t map to revenue. Lock you into a contract that’s painful to leave.

If you’re thinking about working together, the easiest first step is a 30-minute call. Tell me what you’re trying to do; I’ll tell you whether I can help, and if I can’t, who probably can.

See how the engagement would look for your business.
